About Me

My goal is to make navigating mold and environmental illness feel less overwhelming, and more clear and supported.

I help you better understand what’s happening in your body, support you in following and integrating your provider’s treatment plan, and navigate both your health and home environment in a way that feels more manageable — even when everything feels overwhelming.

Navigating mold and environmental illness doesn’t have to feel chaotic or confusing. With the right support, it can feel clear, steady, and more manageable.

I’m Kara Coombs…

I’m a registered nurse with over 30 years of experience, now focused on supporting individuals navigating mold and environmental illness.

Like many of my clients, I’ve lived through this myself.

For years, I experienced a wide range of symptoms without clear answers, until I began to understand the role environmental toxins were playing in my health.

Even with a knowledgeable provider, I remember how overwhelming the process felt, especially between visits. There were so many decisions to make, and it wasn’t always clear what direction to take or what resources to rely on.

That experience is what led me to this work.

Today, I support clients alongside their providers, helping them navigate care, reduce overwhelm, and make decisions around both their health and home environment with more clarity and confidence.

  • Collaboration – Working alongside your providers to support an integrated approach to your care.

  • Non-alarmism – Sharing clear information about mold and toxins without fear or urgency.

  • Honesty – Clear, truthful guidance without overpromising.

  • Ethics – Staying within scope, grounded in what I know, and transparent about what I don’t.

  • Guided autonomy – Supporting your decision-making while helping you feel clear and supported in your next steps.

  • Respect for individuality – No one-size-fits-all approach. Your body, environment, and circumstances matter.
